  • River Cottage Events Cancellation Policy

Below are the following timelines for when you can cancel or transfer your ticket:

• There is no option to refund, transfer or cancel your ticket one week or less before your booked event or course.

• From one to four weeks, we’ll put the tickets back on the website – if they re-sell online up to 24hrs before the event begins, we will transfer you or issue you with Gift Vouchers (with an admin fee of £25) but we cannot refund you.

• Given four week’s notice, we can transfer you with an admin fee, but we cannot refund.

• Given notice of sixteen weeks or more, we can transfer your booking without an admin fee or refund the booking total, with the £25 admin fee.

Further guidelines for your information

• Friends or family can always attend in your place, right up until 24hrs before the event begins. As our administrative hours are Monday-Friday 9am -5.30pm this timelines applies within those hours. You will need to provide us with the names, dietary requirements & contact number of anyone attending in your place. Whilst happy for friends or family to attend in your place, we cannot accept tickets which have been resold through other official ticket-selling websites.

• In the event of an illness (or family illness) preventing your attendance or the attendance of the party as a whole, we may require documentary evidence, in order for us to decide, at our discretion where we can be flexible with the cancellation policy.

• If you are buying the tickets as a gift, if in the event the recipient of the gift chooses to cancel or transfer, we will be in touch with you about how the cancellation policy applies. Please, in order to help you, make the recipient aware that there is a cancellation policy when you give them the tickets.

Catch & Cook Weather policy:

  • 48 hrs before the event we will need to do a weather check. Our skipper will advise us on whether the event can go ahead. If the answer is 'yes' we will post the result up on a pre-assigned web page to that you can access it at your convenience.
  • If we do have to cancel the event, we will offer you an alternative date.
  • A roll over date will be offered for the same year. (Our fishing season is April-September). If the roll over dates do not match the availability of the guest, a refund will be offered. We will let you know of the next available date within in 48hrs of the cancelled event.
  • We reserve the right, based on advice from our skipper, to cancel on the day of the event if unpredictable adverse weather conditions apply. We unfortunately cannot be held responsible for any travel or accommodation losses due to a cancellation.
  • If we can’t get hold of you to offer you a new date, after two weeks we will send you vouchers for a future event. Should the weather improve unexpectedly after a cancellation, we will not be able to reverse the original decision. A roll over date will still apply.
  • There is no contigency plan for a cancellation other than the offer of a new roll over date.
