We have recently changed the way we do things at River Cottage.  We have switched to Amazon to fulfil our book and DVD orders, for two main reasons.  Firstly, it's the cheapest place to buy these items, so everyone's happy. 

Secondly, you'll be able to receive your order the following day if you so wish, which is great for our customers who like to leave it late to grab their birthday presents!  We simply couldn't compete with Amazon as a small business in East Devon, so we made the decision to switch. 

Who do I contact if there is a problem with my order?

Email shopassistant@rivercottage.net and please include your invoice reference if you have ordered direct from us.  If you have ordered from one of our partners you need to contact them direct.

What is the River Cottage returns policy?

Can I get an order posted to a different address?

Yes, at the time of ordering you can add a different delivery address to your billing address. If you need to amend the delivery address after the order has been made but before it has been dispatched please contact shopassistant@rivercottage.net.  Please note that vouchers or e-tickets cannot be sent to another address as they are emailed to you.

Do you dispatch orders outside of the UK?

Yes, we are very happy to dispatch orders outside of the UK.  When you set up an account it will ask you for your address including country.  This will ensure that the correct postage charge is made at when making an order.  Please note we are not able to post any glass/bottles or consumable items outside of mainland UK.

How can I calculate the postage charge for my order?

Please set up an account before adding items to your basket, this will ensure that the correct postage charge is given at the time of ordering.

Why have I been charged VAT when I am not purchasing from the UK or an EU Country?

Although VAT is not chargeable for orders made outside of the UK/EU, there is still VAT charge on the postage and packing.

Are the River Cottage DVDs suitable for viewing outside of the UK?

Our DVDs are produced in zone 0, so are suitable for all DVD players worldwide.

How can I amend email and address details on my account?

Log in to your account.  Click on “Buy Online”.  On the left hand menu go to My Account Details.  Then click on Update Information to change your details.


How do I spend my £10 of membership points?

To spend your membership credit, please log into your account.  Add the items you wish to purchase into your basket. Then click on the “Pay Securely Now” button.  This will take you to the Billing and Delivery Details page, about half way down under Vouchers and Promo codes, there is a small tick box that asks you to Redeem membership credit.  If you click here it will automatically redeem it for you. Please note that membership credit cannot be redeemed on our partner websites e.g. Amazon, Vintage Roots or Otter Farm.

Can I give River Cottage membership as a gift?

Yes, to give the membership as a gift you need to purchase the River Cottage Membership gift voucher.

What products do I get my 10% members discount on?  

The membership discount is available on all River Cottage events, courses, books and DVDs.  Login to your account and access the Members page to order.

How do I check that my card details are up-to-date for my FuturePay agreement so that my membership subscription renews?

You need to refer to the WorldPay CARD FuturePay Confirmation email that would have been sent to you when the agreement was originally set up. Within the email you will have the confirmation of your Futurepay username and password details. 

Use this link to update your card details on the RBS WorldPay page.

- Under Shopper Support click on ‘Agreement Login’
- Click on ‘Login to the Shopper Management System’
- Enter your username and password
- You will now have a list of your future pay agreements
- Click on the relevant agreement ID

To update your details choose the 2nd option at the top of this page ‘Change Payment Details’

- Enter your new card details
- Hit ‘Submit’

How do I cancel my FuturePay agreement?

Follow the instructions in the answer above until “Click on the relevant agreement ID” and then click on 'cancel this agreement'. Click 'yes' to confirm.

What do I do if I no longer have my original login and password for my FuturePay agreement?

How do I log on to the online course?

If you already have already purchased online courses or you are a River Cottage member go here.

This will take you to the logon page for the online courses.  In the top right hand corner you will need to log on using your River Cottage account details.  When you have logged in you can select the online course you are signed up for (members have access to all the courses).


How will I receive the vouchers that I have ordered?

All our vouchers are now emailed to the purchaser immediately as the order is made.  These vouchers can then either be printed out or emailed on to the recipient for a gift.

Where can I spend River Cottage vouchers?

River Cottage vouchers are only valid for River Cottage HQ courses and events or in our River Cottage Canteens and Deli's. River Cottage vouchers can not be redeemed on our partner sites such as Amazon and Vintage Roots. 

How long are the River Cottage Vouchers valid?

All of our vouchers are valid for one year from the date of purchase.

My voucher codes do not work?

If you have an older style voucher this will need to be changed to a new e-voucher that can be spent online. Please e mail shopassistant@rivercottage.net for assistance.
