It's Movember at River Cottage, and three of our team are donating their faces to raise awareness around men's health.
Movember, the month formerly known as November, is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world.
Now they've arrived at River Cottage HQ.
The aim is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
Then for the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, will trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery.
On Movember 1st, head gardener Mark Diacono, website guru Simon Deverell and Mark Davenport, who works behind the scenes with Hugh on the TV series, registered at Movember.com with a cleanly shaven face.
"I'm growing a tache for Movember to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, particularly prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men," says our head gardener Mark Diacono.
"I'm part of a team of gardeners hoping to spread the message far and wide, so please support the cause if you can," he adds.
"I also have a lot of friends who are curious as to quite how ridiculous I will look with facial hair. 'Fairly' is the answer, judging by the first pic (above)."
Meanwhile, far away from the freezing and unforgiving conditions of the River Cottage garden, our website guru Simon Deverell pinpoints the motivation for his new growth from the comfort of his cosy, warm office at the top of the track.
"Designing websites at this time of the year can be a pretty gruelling job," says River Cottage's go-to man for all things online.
"I'm basically out there fighting with the elements, with nothing but these four walls to protect me from the weather," he suggests.
"I'm hoping that my new brush will help guard my sensitive top lip from the icy Devon winds.
"I'm also hoping, most importantly, that it will help raise some money for this great cause."
TV researcher Mark also hope his new addition will protect him from the wintery Devon conditions, adding: “It has turned pretty cold down at River Cottage HQ now that our short summer has ended"
"Not only is my Mo going to keep my top lip warm, but it might give the rest of the team a bit of a laugh during the short days of the winter months" he hopes.
“Most importantly though it’s an opportunity to spend a month raising money and awareness for a cause which often doesn't get much attention!”
