A taste of River Cottage
The River Cottage Canteens in Axminster and Plymouth showcase the very best of what the South West has to offer and what is in season, with menus changing daily.
They boast a wide selection of the best local and seasonal provisions including fruit and vegetables, meat and bread, pickles and preserves, wine and beer.
Virtually all of the produce has been sourced locally by Hugh, head chefs Tim Maddams and Joe Draper and their teams from some of the finest South West producers, who regularly attend our weekly tastings.
The menu entirely reflects our famous seasonal, local ethos.
“River Cottage believes passionately about where food comes from and how it is produced and wants to support local producers, the local economy and reduce the miles your food has to travel," said Plymouth head chef Joe Draper.
"A strict focus on seasonality is encouraged as is a ‘no compromise’ attitude on quality and taste. We know our suppliers all agree,” he added.
