Things to get Excited about

NorthernIslesPigs
by NorthernIslesPigs

3 weeks ago, out saddleback sow visited the boar, what we wanted to happen went on, and today we took her for a wonder to visit him again just to make sure, and aside from a wee sniff not a lot of action. So fingers crossed, the jobs been done and in the magic, 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days from 3 weeks ago, we'll have a little of little saddleback pigs arriving :)

None of my Tamworth ladies have come on heat either, so am hoping the same is true for them, so that'll be a litter of crosses arriving

And..

we have 5 piglets coming to us in 3 weeks, after only getting three last summer, and loosing one before christmas we thought to buy some new stock in, so enroute via the ferry in 3 weeks time we shall have oxford sandy and black crosses arriving :)

Yay! Very exciting - we are more than happy to go ooooooooooh and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah over photos of happy piglets!! There is a litter just along the road from me at present - lovely wee tubby things. I keep telling their owner I will steal one in the dead of night one night (for culinary purposes of course!)

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel - run down there and light the blooming thing yourself!

Its been really awesome to watch our two grow up, three would have been better but pneumonia took her from us, which was not pleasant at all. The two boys are monsters, playful, happy, hairy, muddy ones :) like but monsters none the less :D

Likewise bringing the saddlebacks on has been rewarding as well, considering the start they had before we got them, and seeing the sow become the gorgeous (if you can say that about a pig) pedigree she is, has been incredible seeing as how she looked more like a goat then a pig when we got her she was so thin!

Looking forward to seeing my new piglets soon.. can I wait 3 weeks hee hee :D

All pigs are gorgeous - they are so affectionate you want to just scritch their ears ... Great to see you so excited about your animals ...

Best of luck with the litters. You're going to have such an enjoyable time.
