Whoa been a while since I done one of these and whoa very thought provoking!
1. As a child in the 70's I always wanted to work in a sweet shop, so I guess that's where I would be!
2. The birth of my eldest, my daughter, I was anaesthetised so missed it so to speak.
3. No because history is our future, not to be interfered with.
4. Playstation, Nintendo ds, political correctness, health and safety, McDonald's.
5. My nanny, found out more about her after she died, wish I'd chatted to her more in life :(
Dave Cook stayed in Amersham last week had a lovely walk through some Capability Browns ground, was beautiful.
I seem to be getting later and later at this lark!
1. If you could do any job in any period of history what would it be and why? I would quite fancy being a suffragette (though probably not the ones who got mowed down by horses or similar) It would be great to experience the depth of feeling and sense of change that the movement caused. Failing that I would be a pirate- arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
2. Which moment in time would you love to have witnessed? Not too sure, theres too many really
3. If you were allowed to change one moment in time, would you and what change would you make? I would not dream of making any changes, we are where we are simply because of past history.
4. There have been many amazing inventions , can you name five things that the world would have been better without? Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, Top Gear, dry ski slopes and the M25 (its been a long half term )
5. If you could go back and meet one of your ancestors for a good natter , who would you choose? It would have to be my gran. Though she disinherited me towards the end of her life, at her funeral I found out that she had been an ARP warden and several other nuggets that seemed so incongruous for the little old lady I knew her as.
Thanks Hermit, great FF's. Looking forward to next weeks already!

I smile a lot because I actually have no idea what's happening.
1. If you could do any job in any period of history what would it be and why? I'd like to have been a pioneer in America - a lucky one mind you, who found an elusive seam of gold
2. Which moment in time would you love to have witnessed? The finding of the uncut Cullinan diamond and realising it wasn't just another rock!
3. If you were allowed to change one moment in time, would you and what change would you make? That the then labour leader John Smith would not have died in 1994. I think we would never have heard of "New Labour" and in all likelyhood things might be very much different than they are now. The knock on effect had the potential to be huge
4. There have been many amazing inventions , can you name five things that the world would have been better without? Plastic (like Dave & Surrey Dodger) because it's the scourge of the planet, Tobacco (yes I know I'm a smoker but it's awful stuff), Whiskey because it's simply vile to me, Mechanically separated meat because there is absolutely no need for this to exist and Just for men hair dye because it'sjust silly
5. If you could go back and meet one of your ancestors for a good natter , who would you choose? My dad's real father who was an American GI. Just to see what became of him as after he left Weymouth to go to France, no-one knows what happened to him although we can hazzard a guess.

Good one Don.
Not sure about your answers for number 4 ...........
That's ok Mark - you're allowed !
- I'm trying to stay suitably "bland" - so I won't give my reasons.
I have to say that "Communism" was only included because I needed a fifth.
