As a teenager I thought Monty Python was neck breakingly funny and The Life of Brian can still make me laugh like a drain (Incontenentia Buttocks makes me snigger even as I write this and I have vivid recollections of a slightly wayward male teacher allowing a coach of 15 year old girls to watch it while travelling to the South of France. At the time Graham Chapmans "bits" were the high point of our trip )
I also LOVED Fawlty Towers and our 6 year old is just discovering the joys of John cleese abusing innocent tourists and cars. At 6 he also does a mean "Ministy of Silly Walks"!!
Recently I was helpless over Green Wing which never seemed to have caught on much and we are hoping to see Rhod Gilbert at some point. So long as its funny and slightly subversive then I'm up for it really!

I smile a lot because I actually have no idea what's happening.
My absolute fave has to be early Jasper Carrot, closely followed by Billy 'the big yun' Connolly.
Never found Max Boyce funny at all bit of a Simon Amstell of his day IMO, cant ever see who decided that either of them can be termed "A Comedian' they should be sectioned.
“It will do you no harm to find yourself ridiculous.
Resign yourself to be the fool you are...
...We must always take risks. That is our destiny...”
Oh Max Boyce was of his time, and funny .......... my friend got to hold his Leek in the front row of one Show ........ and the Big Yin can still make me laugh although the language is often un-necessary. Certainly when he turned up unexpectedly at Cropredy one year [1989?] the whole field fell silent, we couldn't believe it was really him! For nearly 2 hours he held the audience spellbound, what a queue for the loos after wards !
Jim Davidson has had us rolling in the aisles ..........
I liked Max Boyce; as you say Leah, he was of his time. I like Billy Connolly when he isn't trying to be funny as I find him too coarse then, but when he is talking about something else he is funny and very interesting.
I liked Last of the Summer Wine as it was gentle, clean humour. Cleggys one liners were really brilliant, and Compo of course was a master of slapstick.
Must admit we did have a good laugh over HHs pig spa, so perhaps you have a burgeoning career HH.
I miss the Mary Whitehouse Experience! I love Eddie Izzard and Dave Gorman
HI Spawnee Check out the Star Wars lego clip on youtube, its Eddie Izzard doing a voice over in the deathstar canteen. Hilarious.
As a kid I was a big fan of 'Alf'...would love to get it on DVD to see if he really was that funny...Billy Connolly..
auf wiedershen...'whose line is it anyway'...but really I like anything I can laugh at, especially if its sharp comedy, like Brian O'Breen or Have I got news for you.
humour?
what's your fave comedy people/show/classic?
just thought it would be interesting to maybe bring a few laughs in these not so good times

I still laugh at "It's only a flesh wound!"
