I have just taken 2 granary loaves out of the oven and a batch of doggy bickie's for Molly. The bread is to have with the Mulligatawny soup I made today and the bickies are for Christmas for molly. The house is smelling fabulous and warm and cosy. Will be lighting some candles and wrapping some gifts to night, and having sloe gin or two. What is cooking in your kitchens today?
Make yourself at home!!! Clean my kitchen.
A balanced diet is a piece of cake! In each hand.
I cooked some bread today as had visitors (cooked a gammon yesterday in cider), roast a chicken yesterday and have been boiling stock on the wood fire when not outside sawing and chopping.
Tonights tea is chicken leftovers with roast potatoes, roast butternut squash, and garden beans (salted, not frozen).
Dessert a choice of rice pudding or cherry pie.
Washed down with a hot cup of tea
All humans should be free range and never kept in offices!
Nothing cooking today, as am abroad and waiting at an airport (as usual), but will be tucking into pheasant casserole tomorrow that I made on Monday night and popped in the freezer.
I like to do my bit for global warming, and so I make sure I use my 400 bhp V8 monster EVERY day.....
I am about to go & prepare a pot luck pie from what is hiding in my fridge - A package of shortcrust pastry I accidentally defrosted thinking it was 6 sausages! will now become a delicious pie of - left over roast chicken, a leek, some dried out ham, a mushroom or 2 & the end of an old chorizo with a gravy of chicken stock & 3rd of a carton of "wild mushroom & marsala sauce.
Served with a few greens will be just right for a chilly night.
Not sure wether to head to stewys or weirdys...havent had egg and chips for ages...
poor days cooking here, finished off the butternut soup I made yesterday for lucnh, dinner was 'sloppy mince' with loads of herbs & onions in a gravy with creamy mash, carrots and sweetcorn.
Just made some scotch pancakes for childrens supper, and cooked some pork and chives sausages to have for ours later. Shopping tomorrow, once I fix a flat tyre, so planning on some cheese and potato soup when I get home with bread from the market, and chilli jam. Mmmm..
Chilli prawn & vegetable egg fried rice. We had a curry last night and I doubled up on the rice to do a stirfry tonight. Easy peasy because it was a bit of a struggle getting out of the city in the weather.
Now I fancy egg & chips!
Nick- safe home and enjoy the pheasant when you land.
Having cut two large pigs, made 600 sausages, piles of faggots, sliced 20k of bacon, made piles of "pigs in blankets", prepared 40 pheasant, trayed and overwrapped the lot, all for markets tomorrow, I ended up with two slices of toast and honey for supper. Oh, and a glass or three...which the fairies seem to have drunk.........

Sounds lovely!
I've got some candied orange sticks on the go - they're drying out at the moment, so I can coat them in chocolate. It's a very messy process!
