I inherited my grandmother's knife box (with knives going back to the '20s) and get most of my vintage bits from poking about junk shops or abandoned sheds. Not enough good car boots here, as Mark & Dmcp say.
The charity shops in Bradford in the early 90s were crammed with stone hot water bottles, Horlicks mixers, ancient Bourne Denby crockery and other such all for 50p each. I suspect we won't see those days again. Here are some of my charity shop scoops:
Looking at the link to Steptoe's Dog, I really love a lot of the stuff they have. But they've photographed & presented it lovingly hence top drawer prices. Put that stuff all together in a biscuit box in The British Heart Foundation shop by Kirkgate market in Bradford and it's a pound an item, tops
I have a stone hot water bottle. I bought it the day I moved into the house as the mattress had been stored in the house for a year, and was predictably damp. It was minus 8 forecast and I had no heating. So into town for a hotty and voila - they had none. Fortunately the local antique shop had a stone hot water bottle. It is still on standby for similar emergencies! Though not a pretty powder blue like yours Woifey

Kitchenalia and other vintage items

Found this while poking around, and remembered a 'hovis tin' discussion, so thought you may like a peek.
Looks like a site for people with less sense than money
Looking forward to getting back to the land of Jumble Sales and Car Boots!!
I wasn't advocating buying! lol
More like 'screen shopping' I thought they were a tad expensive. Not enough boot sales over here, like Mark says.
Ebay are better priced, I had some stonking bargains for my Kitchenalia stuff.
I pick up a lot of mine in charity shops.
I inherited much of mine ... and then there are clearing sales ...
Charity shops and church sales are good sources. Not to put too finer point on it, but anywhere that dead people stuff ends up!
I seem to have inherited a lot too.
