Quest for ultimate roasting chicken

Having watched with interest the river cottage episode regarding the quest for the ultimate roasting chicken I am interested in duplicating the winning cross. Unfortunately I can't remember the breeds. My question simply is what breeds were used?

I believe the roo was a Indian Game and the winning hen was the Dorking. The Wyandotte hen was the least favorite of the 3 hens, and I can't remember the hen that came in second. Hope this helps.

Hi There, an Indian Game (cornish Game) Hen crossed with either a Rhode Island Red Cockeral or any of the larger Dual purpose breeds is a good mix. You could also cross a Ross Cobb hen with a large Dual purpose cockeral. I had good sucess with that cross last year.
