all day sunday chicken. we are always quite busy and sometimes a roast takes too much time. instead i spend half an hour in the morning listening to the radio making dinner for Sunday evening. the kids love it!

  • all day (longer the better)
  • family of 5
  • 12 Free Range Chicken Legs
  • 1 Onion (chopped)
  • 2 Carrots (sliced in to good chunks)
  • 1 Leek (chopped)
  • 2 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Tin of Tomoatoes or 6 fresh tomatoes chopped.
  • Flour
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 stock cube
  • 1 litre of boiled water.
  • olive oil
  • nob of butter
  • 5 Potatoes
  • 1 Suede
  • Broccili

Put flour in a bowl with salt and pepper and coat the chicken legs. Put olive oil in a pan and slowly brown all chicken legs until golden. as each leg browns put into a pan or a heat proof dish that has a lid and that can go into an oven Whilst browning the chicken legs, prepare all the vegetables. boil the potatoes and suede. once boiled mash, put in a bowl with a nob of butter and cover for later. Once all the chicken legs are browned and in their pot add the onion, leek, garlic, tomoatoes to the pan with the boiling water and the stock cube. stir all the ingredients together and put in the oven at 150 degrees. check and stir chicken every now and again. add some flour to thicken the sauce if you so desire. twenty minutes before serving boil the brocilli and warm through the suede and mash potatoes and serve!

This looks really tasty and just the thing to put in the oven when I want to be in the garden all day. Thanks. Some interesting spelling! Nob usually has a K on the front, Broccoli has two 'o's not 'i's, and suede is what my shoes are made from! It's usually spelled swede!
