Originated in Virginia USA 1828. Rabbit can be used also. From the 'Everything Wild game Cookbook' by Karen Eagle. Remember measurements are american, you may need to adjust slightly, haven't tried this myself.

Ingredients
  • 3 squirrels, cut up
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 strips bacon
  • 1 onion chopped, 2 potatoes chopped
  • 2 cups lima beans (I guess any beans will do)
  • 2 cups of corn kernels
  • 1 can tomatoes, drained
  • 1 tblsp brown sugar
  • 1 tblsp worcestershire sauce
  • s & p to taste

Directions
Place squirrel and stock in large pot, bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 60-75 mins, then debone when cool. Skim fat off broth, add meat and other ingredients, bring to boil & simmer 30 mins till veg are tender. Season.
