HEAVEN This is very chocolaty but still very light....an adult only dessert LOL Chocolate orange version add the zest of 2 oranges when folding in flour

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 200g unsalted butter
  • 200g chocolate bar 70% cocoa s
  • 4 large eggs
  • 200g golden castor sugar
  • 50g plain flour
  • 50g ground almonds
  • Cocoa powder or icing sugar to dust

Directions
Butter and line a tin 23 cm spring form or loosed based tin Put butter and chocolate into a bowl and gently melt over saucepan of simmering water till all melted. Set aside to cool a little. Meanwhile using electric whisk beat eggs and sugar together (until it thickens and pales to an old fashioned custard consistency) Pour chocolate/butter mix into whisked mixture and fold carefull with a spoon. Mix flour,ground almonds and salt together and sift over torte mixture. Fold this carefully into mixture too. (if chocolate orange version mix in zest now. Spoon into tin and bake for 30-35 mins until evenly set...with a slight crust ontop. It can be a little moist but not too much ...timing and knowing your oven is everything. Take out of oven and leave to cool until just warm. Release from tin and dust with cocoa powder or icing sugar. Cut into slices and serve. I like creme anglais with this torte and served slightly warm is very nice too.
