A sour, salty fish with a good tang that is a lovely thing to have as a quick dinner. This is my own recipe, and is loved by all of my family and friends!
Rate this recipe:- 15 minutes
- 5 minutes, or so.
- 1
- 1 portion of fish
- The juice of two lemons
- 1 teaspoon of thyme
- 1 teaspoon of chives
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- Half a teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 teaspoons of butter
Carefully rub the lemon juice into the fish.
Sprinkle over the pepper, salt, chives and thyme.
Massage the fish to work in the condiments.
Place the butter into a pan, and leave to melt on a fairly high temperature.
Once the butter is mostly melted, place in the fish.
Turn the fish over regularly.
Once both sides are lightly browned, remove from the pan with the melted butter, lemon juice and condiments, and place in a shallow bowl.
Eat - this is best served with peas.

I tend to use any firm - fleshed fish. Just ask your local fishmonger. If you have a flaky fish, mix some flour into the lemon juice before adding. It turns out more like battered fish, but jt had the same taste.
in this recipe try using boned huss (bull huss/dog fish) its a nice firm fleshed fish that holds flavours well without breaking up during cooking
