This sweet pudding is made mostly of leftovers and everyday items, and is a perfect pudding for any time.
Rate this recipe:- 10 minutes or so
- None
- Plenty!
- 5 - 6 slices bread (stale is better)
- 150g white sugar
- Custard (home made is better, but powdered can be used)
- 6 tablespoons golden syrup
- 3 slices of white bread, to be kept separate from the rest of the bread.
Line a dish with the first lot of bread.
Carefully mix the custard, syrup and sugar.
Pour the custardy mix into the bread - and make sure it does not reach the top.
Gently press the three slices of white bread onto the top, covering all of the custardy mix.
Place in the fridge.
Remove after half an hour.
Serve immediately.
