Arrive: Tractor ride down to the farm where you will catch your first glimpse of the famous farm house where the day is based.
Session One: Craig will start off by finding out which areas you most want to learn about during the day and will ensure that these topics are thoroughly covered. He will then show you why you should grow your own, by explaining the amazing variety, value and flavours available from organically home grown seasonal vegetables.
Session Two: Walk out of the farmhouse and into the kitchen garden. Find out how to get the best from your growing space, understand crop rotation, discover how to make the perfect compost and how to make your soil work for you. Seasonal fruit pruning will also be demystified during this session.
Session Three: A guided tour of our poly tunnels. You’ll see what is growing at the time and learn the practical benefits of protected growing under cover. Craig will also teach you the fundamentals of propagation so you can raise all of your plants from seed or cuttings.
By the end of the day you will travel back up the farm track with all the confidence you need to get growing your own and get the most out of your own garden.
