Get Growing in Spring

Celebrate the start of the growing season with a visit to Get Growing in Spring, the first of our visitor days in 2012 at River Cottage HQ.

We have got some great plans for this year so we really hope you'll join us for a fun and enjoyable day. Why not treat the family? – tickets are only £14.50 each and children under 12 go free.

YOUR DAY AT RIVER COTTAGE

Meet the gang
Enjoy talks and demonstrations from gardening expert Mark Diacono, foraging expert John Wright and cookery demos from the River Cottage Chefs. Meet The Three Hungry Boys: Thom, Tim and Trev fresh from their latest TV adventures.

Visit River Cottage HQ
Walk around River Cottage HQ, see the animals, the gardens and the farmhouse where all the filming takes place. Enjoy a stroll along our nature trail.

Workshops
There will be a variety of workshops taking place in the garden and poly-tunnels so you can have hands on experience learning new skills.

Produce exchange
Been cooking up a storm? or got a few too many courgette plants coming? Bring them along to the produce exchange you'll be amazed what people would like to swap!

Rural crafts/ Farmers market
Meet some of our favourite local suppliers and businesses, try some delicious samples and pick up some tasty treats to take home.

Music, cider and face painting
There are plenty of activities for the kids including face painting and puppet theatre whilst for the bigger kids enjoy live music and a drop of Em's Cider.
 
A few things to note:

Hugh will not be at this event
 
Children under 12 years old are completely free and do not require tickets.
 
Dogs are not allowed on site due to livestock.

What to wear: this event is predominantly outside. There will be marquees and some undercover space but please check the weather forecast before hand and dress accordingly. The event will still take place if it rains.

Food: There will be lunch and refreshments available to buy throughout the day, which are not included within the ticket price.

Wine/drink: We are a licensed venue, and our bar will be open during the day, with a selection of wines, beers, ciders and soft drinks available to buy.
