Gill & Tim Cook Christmas

Join Gill Meller, Head Chef of River Cottage HQ, and Tim Maddams, Head Chef at the River Cottage Canteen & Deli, for a festive evening where they will share their enthusiasm for the truly celebratory cooking of a yuletide feast.

Using the very best local produce, Gill & Tim will show you how to cook the dishes they love to eat at Christmas. With our commitment to seasonality, our chefs like to leave their decisions about the precise menu to the last minute, but you can be sure there will be no Christmas cliches!

Turkey was banished from the River Cottage festive table some time ago, along with smoked salmon and prawn cocktails, but local fish may well feature on the menu, along with goose or duck or perhaps a saddle of River Cottage Lamb.

There will be lots of ideas for cooking seasonal veg - parsnips, salsify and Brussels sprouts will all be thriving in the River Cottage garden.

And of course, it wouldn't be Christmas without some rich and decadent desserts: Pears in spiced rosehip syrup perhaps, or a gooey chocolate chestnut truffle cake.

The evening will kick off at 6pm with Dorset bubbly and handmade canapes. Gill & Tim will then begin demonstrating their Christmas recipes. They will then hand over to the River Cottage team, who will serve you a four-course meal featuring all the dishes you have seen prepared, and many more besides.

Wine/drink: We select some wine to accompany your meal and we a have licensed bar serving the finest selection of local and organic wines also.

Location: This course is run from River Cottage H.Q on the Dorset/Devon borders. Full address details of H.Q. will be provided once you have booked.

Age: The minimum age on this event is 10yrs of age. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. We put these guidelines for the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all our guests
