Great Evening
"It was all most impressive - the food was wonderful. We are particularly keen on seasonal food and thought the way it was done was simple but most effective."

Join us for Saturday Night at River Cottage for a dining experience unlike any other.
Our evening events are a celebration of the River Cottage ethos where the food, location and atmosphere take centre stage. You will be treated to delicious dishes from the River Cottage kitchen whilst enjoying the familiar surroundings from the River Cottage TV series.
Saturday nights are very popular with live music and a bottle of wine between two adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
Your Evening
Arrive at River Cottage: You will be met by members of the River Cottage team before getting on the tractor and trailer for the journey down to River Cottage HQ.
Welcome & canapés: Your host for the evening will greet you with a seasonal welcome drink and canapés will be served. You will have the opportunity to have a look around and soak up the atmosphere.
Chef’s introduction: Once seated the chef will introduce the menu and talk about the dishes being served. You will learn about the food, our philosophy, its provenance and how it has been prepared.
The main event: You will enjoy further canapés at the table, before tucking into a four course menu made using the very best local and seasonal ingredients. The menu is decided on the day depending on what produce is at its very best. We do of course cater for any dietary requirements and you will be prompted to give us these when booking.
Petit fours and coffee: A wonderful evening is rounded off with coffee and petit fours. At this stage the tractor will be available to take you back to the car park when you are ready.

"I am writing to express my sincere thanks for a truly wonderful evening. From the moment that we arrived at the top car park there was a sense of excitement and anticipation from all who were waiting for the tractor ride down to River Cottage HQ. We were met by a young lady (apologies I did not catch her name) who welcomed us into a very quaint structure where we were plied with some heavenly canapes and apple liqueur. After having a wander around the beautiful landscape we were invited to take our seats in the barn. The chef explained the menu we were about to enjoy and explained the provenance of all the ingredients. We were not disappointed, the food was absolutely delicious!!! I would recommend the evening (and already have) to all my friends. The evening was most definitely an event as opposed to a meal. The staff were professional, welcoming and very warm and friendly. All in all, a truly fabulous experience that we will be repeating, we hope to join you again in September. Please extend our thanks to all of the team."

Your review Last Saturday evening was a really enjoyable experience for my wife(her birthday) and I. Right from the start with the friendly welcome from your tractor driver followed up with the arrival drink(very nice, we bought a bottle) and tasty canapes to the introduction by the chef of what was to come - mouth watering. Every course was perfect. First time that we have had rabbit for may years but what we had was so tender and nothing like my memory of it. The staff were so friendly and attentive which put the seal on a lovely evening. Thank you - WE WILL BE BACK!!

Having visited a couple of times in the past, I knew what I was in for...however, my daughter and I were guests on the first Saturday night of business after the fire (it was a belated birthday treat for her), so I wasn't sure what to expect. However, I need not have worried...after the tractor ride, we were greeted with the traditional RC enthusiasm (and a glass of apple brandy!), before being shown to the new dining 'space'.....remarkable is the only way I can describe it...to think that this had all been organized in about 2 weeks was astonishing...and I think my fellow diners were in agreement if the noise level was any guide. As per usual, Gill and his team provided us with a superb four course meal ( RC charcuterie, followed by pollock, followed by lamb and ending with rhubarb...if you thought you weren't especially keen on rhubarb, as I did, this dish will change your mind), and the staff, as they always are, were friendly and knowledgeable. I'll be back long before the barn is rebuilt..!
