We started to learn the art of cheesemaking in May when our friends Richard & Rachelle came to stay from Australia. August brought the delights of our first hatching chicks; above is Butternut with the two Barnevelders. We were also excited to receive a nucleus colony of bees, on loan, to help us with our Plan Bee.
In September we gave our new 30l cider press it’s debut run and took Hen Corner to the streets of Camden for the Belsize Green Fair. October launched our first Harvest Fare Trade, ‘Make it, Bake it, Grow it, Sew it’, where friends and neighbours brought items to swap.
Whilst we’ve been busy in the kitchen and the garden, trying to live ‘A little bit of country life in West London…' it’s been a pleasure to welcome journalists, photographers and film crews to Hen Corner encouraging others to ‘Join us on the Journey’. Here you can see us in the Market Kitchen studio where we were guests on their ‘Big Adventure’ show featuring Hampshire.
