River Cottage Christmas Fayre
About Me: Christmas; it’s a celebration of a year well spent and a chance to feast on fine winter food with friends and family. So, not surprisingly, at River Cottage we love the whole holiday season. In fact we love it so much that this year we decided to throw our first-ever River Cottage Christmas Fayre. In an evening of traditional festive British foods, look out for deliciously different ways to stuff a roast goose, a trio of recipes for that wonderful winter root celeriac, Hugh’s take on a sweet chutney, luxuriously rich Christmas bread and tips for how to fill the perfect hamper with hand made edible goodies. All that plus a festive foraged cocktail, a ginger bread house competition, a caroling Christmas party and hangover cures!
Not quite your traditional cheese! A delicious treat to liven up your cheeseboard.
This makes enough gingerbread for a family-portioned house, if you are after your own HQ, check out the recipe for our Ginger Bread RCHQ that we made for the Christmas Fayre! (The photo is of our ginger bread RCHQ, which requires a larger mix than this family-sized recipe. If you aspire to build big, check out our other recipe for the house that we built - also under our recipes).
This is Tim’s twist on a Bloody Mary, named after a line in the cult film ‘Withnail & I’. You'll find more great booze recipes on the River Cottage booze course with Steven Lamb and Mark Diacono. http://www.rivercottage.net/shop/product/booze/
