hi everyone,

its been 11 months since my first blog entry.  a week after posting the first blog, my father in law died suddenly and the year has sort of tumbled by without me doing much with respect to getting my veggie patch started.

however....... yesterday i finally got round to digging up a good part of my garden in my quest to grow my own.  tomorrow i will be digging in some good old manure but then i'm stuck.

is there anything that i can' plant at this time of the year or shall i just keep digging in manure until january or february?  if anyone can help i would be most grateful.

Not too late for broad beans. Doesn't matter if you don't like them! They put nitrogen in the ground and it's better than bear earth. Hopefully, you'll have a crop before the aphids arrive. Other than that, winter onions, garlic and shallots. Might be a bit late and depends where you are. I put a load in two weeks ago and it's been cold wet and windy since then but they've all started growing.

Keep it up. Cover the plot with manure and let the worms do the rest.
