Well the nights are drawing out and the mornings getting lighter too, I have started my seed trays off over the weekend, Tomatoes, Sweet Peppers and Jalapeno Chilli Peppers, they are all in a heated green house and on the packet it advised to sow theses seeds in February too, however this is my 3rd year growing fruit and veg etc and my friendly neighbour who has been growing for over 40 years has told me that I have wasted my time and money as it is far to early. Has anyone started seed trays off in February before which have been successful?

I have 5 x Pig paddocks with Arks in, but they are all extremely water logged with all this rain which keeps falling. My worries are that this will effect my pigs leg and feet, although the Ark is dry and filled with a lot of straw for warmth and comfort I feel that the time the pigs spend outside the water logged conditions will cause them harm.
As I am new to keeping pigs could anyone advise me of what I should do and will the muddy wet condition cause the pigs to become ill. I do have an outbuilding which I could put the pigs into over the winter months but will this effect them too, please advise.
Thanks in advance
I currently have 2 x Berkshire Gilts which will be sent to Boar next month, which have 6 x paddocks to share which i regularly rotate. I have 2 x Shetland Ponies, Hens, Dogs etc and am now looking to purchase 2 x lambs due to me having too much grazing for the Ponies and find myself mowing the paddocks twice sometimes three times a week in the growing season and thought 2 lambs would do nicely. Having never had Lambs/Sheep before i wondered if anyone could put me on the right path before going ahead so that i am fully prpared for the venture.
I appreciate all your advice and help,
Thanks in advance,
I have my manure ready for my veg garden, planning to dig it in this weekend, a elderly gentleman friend advised me just to spread it on top of the soil and the worms underneath will pull into the ground, is this true? I am new to veg growing and maybe very gullible. Please advise,
I have just recently lost my horse through old age and i have a bag of sugar beet pellets left and wondered if i was to soak them in the same way as i did to feed my horse would it be ok to feed this to my pigs along with their normal pellet feed or would it do them harm.
I would appreciate your advice,
Thanks in advance,
i purchased some really lovely bagonias this year for my hanging baskets, they have had a fantastic display and the green foilage is starting to change colour and the flowers are starting to drop, is it time i took them out to start to dry them before winter storage.
I would really appreciate some advise on how to prepare and store over the winter months if anyone can help.
many thanks :)

I have 2 x Berkshire Gilts together, they are the same age approx 8 months old and are from the same litter. They are fed twice aday, have fresh water, a big mud bath which they love to get in, live outside and have an ark filled with straw to sleep in, i collect droppings up twice a day and they have been very active and well in themselves up until this morning when i went to feed as normal and one came out of the ark grunting and running around as normal but the other one didnt which is just not like her, i started to turn the ponies out and fed the hens and she still hadnt come out. i went to see what she was doing and she just laid there looking at me just making little grunt noises, i kept on coaxing her to come out which took a while and when she did she walked a few steps to the end of the ark and laid back down again. i tried to give her some water but she wasnt interested at all and wouldnt eat anythng ether. she laid there for around 10 mins and then got up and went back into her ark and laid back down. does anyone know what could be possibly wrong with her and what should i do?
look forward to your help and advice.
