Christmas Dining Events
Treat your team or gather your friends and celebrate in the River Cottage way with a private dining experience at HQ.
Our private dinners take place in our beautifully restored 17th century farmhouse or our stunning 18th century threshing barn, depending on the number of guests in the party. Our farmhouse can seat a maximum of 16 guests and our barn can accommodate up to 64.
For this ultimate River Cottage dining experience your party will enjoy:
- A seasonal aperitif and canapés on arrival
- A delicious meal made using the freshest seasonal, local ingredients
- Coffee and petits fours
Our team will be waiting to greet you with a seasonal aperitif and canapés. Relax in front of the roaring wood-burning stove as your personal chef adds the finishing touches to your festive feast. Your chef will then introduce the menu and explain how the dishes have been prepared before leaving you to tuck in.
The menu always showcases the best seasonal ingredients from our farm and local organic growers. Local fish may well feature on the menu, or perhaps a special cut from one of our organically reared Saddleback pigs. We can discuss specific menu requirements, allergies and dietaries before the event.
Lunchtime events take place from midday until 3.00pm and are priced from £125.00pp.
Evening dining events take place from 7.00pm until approximately 11.00pm and are priced from £180.00pp.
NB. Prices are based on a minimum of 10 paying guests
Christmas Chef’s Table
Join us for this exciting Christmas event and spend an exclusive evening with a River Cottage Head Chef, enjoying a ten-course festive feast. Taking place in the River Cottage Cookery School, this intimate dining experience will be an evening of inspiration - watch our chef team working to create your ten-course tasting feast of sensational seasonal and organic food created especially for you. Dine at the chef's table and discover what makes River Cottage menus so special – with a behind the scenes window into the River Cottage way of sustainable sourcing, cooking and eating. Your menu will be accompanied by a delicious drinks pairing chosen to complement each dish, with each as carefully considered as the dishes themselves. You’ll be served a selection of organic and biodynamic wines, our own organic River Cottage beers, ciders and kombuchas, as well as our favorite festive tipples from local distilleries and brewers all paired by our expert Chefs.
• Arrive at River Cottage - You’ll be met at the top of our track at 7.15pm and begin your River Cottage experience where you will be driven down by our team.
• Welcome - Meet the Head Chefs and their teams who will be hosting your evening and enjoy a festive cocktail whilst you have a chance to explore the kitchen garden and your surroundings
• The main event - You’ll be treated to a ten-course menu of fantastic local, seasonal and organic produce, planned on the day to showcase the freshest and the best our garden and local organic suppliers have to offer. Throughout the evening your chef host will take you through our philosophy, the food’s provenance and how the dishes have been prepared.
• Drinks - Your menu will be accompanied by a drinks pairing, chosen to complement each dish. We source our drinks as judiciously as our food, with our own River Cottage range of organic ciders, beers and kombuchas, and a carefully curated wine list of 100% organic and biodynamic wines.
• Departure - To finish the evening, you’ll unwind with coffee or teas before heading home.
£175 per person – maximum of 12 guests, minimum numbers 8 guests
Christmas Chef’s Table – Lunchtime Experience
Join us for this exciting Christmas lunchtime event and spend the afternoon with a River Cottage Chef, enjoying a five-course feast. Taking place in the River Cottage Cookery School, this intimate dining experience will be an afternoon of inspiration. Watch our chef team working to create a five-course feast of sensational seasonal and organic food created especially for you. Dine at the chef's table and discover what makes our menus so special as your chef host will take you through the River Cottage philosophy, the food’s provenance and how the dishes have been prepared.
• Arrive at River Cottage - You’ll be met at the top of the track at 11.30am and begin your River Cottage experience where you will be driven down by our team.
• Welcome - Meet the chefs who will be hosting your evening and enjoy a seasonal cocktail whilst you have a chance to explore the kitchen garden and your surroundings
• The main event - You’ll be treated to a five-course menu of fantastic organic, local and seasonal produce, planned on the day to showcase the freshest and the best our garden and local suppliers have to offer. Throughout the evening your chef host will take you through our philosophy, the food’s provenance and how the dishes have been prepared.
• Departure – At 2.30pm, to finish your visit, you’ll unwind with coffee or teas in our yurt before heading home.
£95 per person – maximum numbers 12 people, minimum numbers 8 guests.
