Eat Better Forever with Hugh
Join Hugh in our beautiful 17th century threshing barn for a fantastic four-course feast that shows just how delicious healthy eating can be.
After a welcome drink and canapes, Hugh will join you as you take your seats, and talk to you about the philosophy and ideas behind his brilliant new book, Eat Better Forever.
Hugh will explain his “Seven Ways” that demystify the principles of eating well, based on the latest scientific evidence, and encourage you to embrace a way of shopping, cooking and eating that has nothing to do with counting calories and everything to do with enjoying life-enhancing, health-supporting unfailingly delicious food.
There will be time for you to ask Hugh questions, before he introduces the menu for the evening, based on recipes from the book, and leaves you in the expert hands of River Cottage Exec Head Chef Gelf Alderson and his team.
Everyone will receive a copy of Eat Better Forever, personally signed and dedicated by Hugh to you (or anyone you would like to nominate). Let us know your requested dedication and your signed book will be waiting for you on arrival.
Tickets for this exclusive evening include a welcome drink, four-course meal, coffee and petit fours.
With only 40 tickets available, this will be a very special event, centred around a fantastic meal served in the beautiful River Cottage barn. Hugh will be at the event for around 2 hours - from your arrival until you are seated for your meal.

Arrive at River Cottage
You’ll be met at the top of the hill at 6.30pm and begin your River Cottage experience with a 10-15 minute walk through the wonderful pathways down to the farm.
Welcome and canapés
You'll enjoy a welcome drink on arrival and there's time, if you wish, to explore the kitchen garden and your surroundings
The main event
As you settle in the barn for the evening, Hugh will welcome you and tell you more about his latest book and recent activities. There will be an opportunity for guests to ask questions. He will then hand over to our Executive Chef Gelf Alderson who will talk you through the menu and explain the food’s provenance and how the dishes have been prepared.
You’ll be served a four-course menu of fantastic local, seasonal produce, featuring recipes from Hugh's book.
Petits fours and coffee
After dinner you’ll unwind with coffee and petits fours, before heading back up the hill.
This dining event is run from River Cottage HQ on the Dorset/Devon borders. Full address details of HQ will be provided once you have booked.
We are a licensed venue. We have a wide selection of the finest organic wines available to purchase.
