Half-term Halloween Happening - Afternoon
Head to River Cottage for a ghoulishly good day out this Halloween. Explore our woods, carve your own pumpkin and listen to some spine-chilling stories in the yurt before warming up with some devilishly tasty food around the bonfire.
This half-term join us for a special halloween happening. This family-friendly event is the perfect opportunity for you to get outdoors in the beautiful countryside and enjoy some seasonal organic food and have a fun family day out.
Grab your wellies and take some time to explore our 100 acres of farmland. Say hello to the pigs and cows and feel the crunch of autumn leaves underfoot as you embark on a walking trail amongst the beautiful woods and pathways of River Cottage. When the (little) legs are in need of a sit down, head to our atmospheric and cosy yurt where professional storyteller Martin Maudsley will be reading spooky stories to entertain our younger guests. Martin is a highly regarded storyteller who regualraly performs at events and festivals thoughout the country. Afterwards head to the cookery school and pick a pumpkin to carve and when you're done you can feed the pigs your scraps and of course, take your carved creation home with you.
Afterwards when you're feeling peckish, collect your helping of seasonal stew and flatbread for you to enjoy in the warmth of the bonfire. If you fancy something sweet, our homemade doughnuts* will be available along with toffee apples*. And you can wash it down with a glass of mulled cider or apple juice*. The bar will be open throughout the day serving a fantastic selection of local and organic wines, our own ale and soft drinks as well as teas and coffees* .
Tickets are just £15 per person and for this you can look forward to:

- Free parking
The price of £15 per person includes entry to River Cottage HQ, all activiites and one portion of stew and flatbread. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. Under 5's go free if not eating.

Pre-booking is essential and please be prepared for wet weather, this is an outdoor event.
We kindly request that dogs are left at home. We are a working farm so to protect our livestock dog are not permitted onsite
Afternoon and evening tickets are available. The afternoon session is between 1-4 pm, please arrive between 1 & 1.30 pm and evening ticket holders can attend from 5 - 8 pm, arriving between 5-5.30pm. Click here for EVENING tickets.

This dining event is run from River Cottage HQ on the Dorset/Devon borders. Full address details of HQ will be provided once you have booked.
We are a licensed venue. We have a wide selection of the finest organic wines available to purchase.
Under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult. We put these guidelines in place for the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all our guests.
We happily cater for allergies and intolerances so do let us know of any restrictions at the time of booking. We kindly request you do not specify dislikes or preferences as we would love you to try the dishes our chefs have specifically created for the event so you can experience the menu as it was intended. Please be aware that we use ingredients in our kitchens which include allergens so we cannot guarantee against contamination.
