Join us for long table feasting at River Cottage HQ and enjoy the very best local, seasonal produce in our beautiful 18th century barn.

Dinner at River Cottage HQ is the perfect opportunity to experience the passion, knowledge and inspiration of Hugh and his trusted team. Join us to celebrate and enjoy the very best local, seasonal and sustainable produce with a magical evening of communal feasting in our18th century threshing barn.

Collected by farm vehicle at the top of the hill you will be transported down the track to our 100 acre farm nestled in the Axe Valley, complete with farmhouse, barns, livestock and produce gardens. Before dinner, enjoy a local tipple or seasonal cocktail and relax in front of the open fire in the cosy yurt or explore our abundant kitchen garden.

Once you are settled in our beautifully restored barn, our Head Chef will share the story behind the four courses being served. We are internationally renowned for creating a constantly changing set menu inspired by what has been foraged, caught or picked from the kitchen garden that day; a menu which reflects the very best in seasonal and local ingredients. We regularly incorporate the latest recipes we are working on for books and TV shows, as well as featuring firm River Cottage favourites.

The garden and land team liaise closely with the kitchen team to grow, nurture and harvest the produce for our events. Anything additional we need is sourced from our excellent neighbouring suppliers including Trill Farm, Coombe Farm Organic and Haye Farm. Two of these farms are so local to us we can see them from our back step. The drinks list includes our own ale, cider and Elderflower Sparkling as well as some local icons like Somerset Cider Brandy and the effervescent Castlewood Sparkling from the vineyard over the brow of the hill. Rest assured, at the end of the night the farm vehicles will be on hand to take you back up the hill, full of delicious food, happy memories and maybe a little garden or kitchen inspiration too!

  • Arrive at River Cottage

    You’ll be met at the top of the hill at 6.30pm and transported to River Cottage HQ by farm vehicle.

  • Welcome and canapés

    We’ll greet you in our cosy yurt with canapés and a seasonal cocktail, and you will have the chance to explore our idyllic surroundings.

  • Chef's introduction

    As you settle in for the evening, your chef will introduce the menu and tell you more about our philosophy, the food’s provenance and how the dishes have been prepared.

  • The main event

    You’ll be treated to a four-course menu of fantastic local and seasonal produce, planned on the day to showcase the freshest and the best. We happily cater for any dietary requirements, which you’ll be asked to provide when booking.

  • Coffee and petits fours

    After dinner you’ll unwind with coffee and petits fours (if you still have room), before being driven back up the hill by our tractor and trailer.

With a little notice we can make something equally as delicious for you. Sometimes guests ask us to consider dislikes and preferences too. We understand this may be due to nervousness around our set menu style of dining. On those occasions we would rather not make too many changes as we want our guests to enjoy the experience that has been created specifically for the event they are attending.
