Come and enjoy the best of the season at River Cottage Spring Food Fair 2017.
We love every season for different reasons here at River Cottage, but even we’ll admit that spring is one of the best. So pull on your wellies, round up the family and join us on the farm for a weekend full of cooking, growing, relaxing and (most importantly) eating, at the River Cottage Spring Food Fair.
Held on Saturday 27, Sunday 28 and Monday 29 May 2017, the fair will be a hands-on celebration of all things River Cottage. The Fair is a real family occasion and is packed full of activities and family fun – from chef demos, artisan food stalls, kids’ workshops, talks and live music to garden and foraging tours from River Cottage foraging guru John Wright.
There is an exciting line-up of CHEFS confirmed who will be taking to the Main Stage and sharing their culinary tips, including Gill Meller, Matthew Fort, Signe Johansen, Tom Hunt, Mark Hix, Louise Gray, Naomi Devlin and Rachel De Thample to name a few.
New for 2017 the GARDEN STAGEwill feature experts on a huge variety of topics related to horticulture including all aspects of organic, sustainable and unique horticultural methods including; seed-saving, biodynamics, market gardening, no dig, soil and compost and much more. Confirmed so far are organic kitchen gardener, chef and writer Stephanie Hafferty and Charles Dowding, market gardener, author, teacher and ‘no dig’ advocate, alongside River Cottage’s Head Gardener Will Livingstone with many more still to be announced.
Little ones go free and will be thoroughly entertained throughout with a huge choice of child-friendly activities including falconry displays, donkey rides, felting and lucet braiding workshops, animal area, candle making, demonstrations by local craftsmen, bubble workshops, face painting, skittles and hula hooping - to name but a few.

When you get peckish join us in the famous farmhouse where we will be opening the doors of our POP UP RESTAURANT. We want everyone to have the opportunity to experience the real River Cottage so the delicious menu designed using fresh, seasonal and local produce is what makes our Farmhouse Feasts really special (no booking required). There will also be a wide-range of food stalls for you to choose from.
All Under-16s can enter the Fair for free.

Arrival at River Cottage HQ
You will need to show your receipt number which appears on your invoice on the day and present this as proof of purchase at the accreditation tent. This is emailed to you upon booking. Entry will not be permitted without this.
Under-16s can enter the Fair for free and will not require a pre-purchased ticket.
Please read our transport guide for information on car parking and other ways to travel. Park and ride tickets are included in your ticket price. However, if you would like to upgrade to VIP on-site parking, please click here.
A tractor and trailer will be on standby from 5pm each day should you require a lift back up the hill.
Food & Drink
There will be lunch and refreshments available to buy throughout the day (not included in the ticket price) and our licensed bar will be open each day, serving a selection of local beers, ciders, wines and soft drinks.

This event is mainly outside. There will be marquees and some undercover spaces, but please check the weather forecast, our social media and our website beforehand and dress accordingly. The ground will be uneven, so we advise you wear comfortable shoes.
We’re sorry – to protect our livestock, dogs are not allowed on the site.
We have a market areas packed with produce from our local suppliers for you to taste and take home.
