Step into Summer with Hugh
To celebrate the joys of the season and the best produce it offers, Hugh and his team invite you to a delicious summer feast at River Cottage HQ.
This summer Hugh and the River Cottage team will be hosting a special event, capturing and sharing the principles and passions of River Cottage. The evening will be held at our beautiful HQ, 100 acres of farmland nestled in the stunning Axe Valley on the Dorset/Devon border.
Join Hugh for a seasonal cocktail and canapés in the walled kitchen garden or by the wood-burning stove in the yurt (depending on the weather), before taking your seat in our traditional 18th century threshing barn. Hugh will give an insight into his recent ventures, including filming his latest series ‘Easy Ways to Live Well’ and will talk about his River Cottage 20 year journey. There will be an opportunity for guests to ask questions before Hugh introduces four fantastic courses he has devised with Head Chef Dom Moldenhauer. He will then leave you in the capable hands of Dom and the River Cottage team.
Tickets for this exclusive evening are limited to 64 people and include a seasonal cocktail, canapés, four-course meal, petits fours and coffee.
We ask guests to arrive for 6.30pm, ready to be transported down to the farm by the famous River Cottage tractor and trailer! The evening will draw to a close around 11.30pm.
This event is part of Taste East Devon Festival, a celebration of food & drink in the local area taking place between 30 May - 7 June 2020.

You’ll be met at the top of the hill at 6.30pm and transported to River Cottage HQ by tractor and trailer.
Welcome and canapés
Join Hugh in our walled kitchen garden or cosy wood-fired yurt for a welcome drink and seasonal canapés.
Once you are seated in our 18th century threshing barn Hugh will talk about how River Cottage has grown over the years and his recent ventures before encouraging questions from the floor.
The main event
Hugh will wrap up his session with a few words about the menu and ingredients before handing over to Dom and the River Cottage team.
Enjoy a four-course menu of fantastic local, seasonal produce, showcasing the freshest and the best ingredients. We happily cater for any dietary requirements, which you’ll be asked to provide when booking.
After dinner unwind with coffee and petits fours, before being driven back up the hill by our tractor and trailer.
This dining event is run from River Cottage HQ on the Dorset/Devon borders. Full address details of HQ will be provided once you have booked.
We are a licensed venue. We have a wide selection of the finest organic wines available to purchase.
Under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult. We put these guidelines in place for the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all our guests.
We happily cater for allergies and intolerances so do let us know of any restrictions at the time of booking. We kindly request you do not specify dislikes or preferences as we would love you to try the dishes our chefs have specifically created for the event so you can experience the menu as it was intended.
