Founder of River Cottage, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is a food writer, broadcaster and campaigner, renowned for an uncompromising commitment to seasonally, ethically produced food and for his award-winning environmental work. He has recently filmed two new series for the BBC, Hugh’s Wild West which is currently on BBC2, and a new series investigating the national diet due to air on BBC1 very soon.

Hugh will be at the Festival throughout the weekend, opening the Main Stage at 11am both days, introducing our guest list of inspiring speakers for the day ahead. Hugh will be joining some of the speakers on stage, and will also be doing a book signing each afternoon. His latest book, River Cottage Much More Veg, is a passionate call for us to put plant foods at the centre of our cooking. You can buy it, and most other River Cottage books, on site, but feel free to bring along any Hugh books you have at home. Or just come and say hello to Hugh.
