Geetie Singh-Watson is the founder of Riverford at The Duke of Cambridge Organic Pub, Islington, London. In 2009, she was awarded an MBE for ‘Services to the Organic Pub Trade’. An active campaigner and environmentalist, Geetie firmly believes that businesses must act responsibly and be led by their ethics and values. The Duke of Cambridge opened its doors in 1998 and has served organic, sustainable food (and drink) ever since. It remains the only Soil Associated certified organic pub in the UK.
The Riverford box scheme began when Guy Singh-Watson started delivering vegetables locally to 30 friends in Devon. Riverford now deliver around 48,000 boxes a week to homes around the UK from four regional farms. Guy’s relentless hard work and commitment to organic farming is second to none and his list of awards is huge.
In 2014 Geetie and Guy were married. Their businesses merged and Geetie now runs both restaurant sites, the Riverford Field Kitchen in Devon and Riverford at The Duke of Cambridge.
