The Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS) Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival takes place from 4 to 9 July and we're going to be there!
We are very excited to be taking part for the first time and will be creating a feature garden - the River Cottage Market Garden is an immersive walk-through garden, designed by Head Gardener Adam Crofts that will focus on growing organic vegetables, fruit trees, botanicals and wildflowers for pollinators. It will showcase country crafts, including beekeeping and willow weaving as well as the pleasure of cooking and eating outdoors.
The illustration below is an artist's impression of how the garden will look. You will notice that Adam has taken inspitarion from the original River Cottage Garden by creating defined beds for the crops.
Adam will be on hand during the festival to talk to visitors about his garden, and he'll be joined by chefs demonstrating some outdoor cooking techniques in a specially created area of the garden. Hugh will also be in attendance, both in the River Cottage garden and on one of the show's stages.
