An event was held at the Canteen hosted by River Cottage Group Head Chef Gill Meller and featured a special four course menu and live music from the fabulous FB Pocket Orchestra. The raffle raised £530 for local charity Trinity, a unique Winchester-based charity who help people who are vulnerable to the effects of homelessness, addiction, physical and mental ill health, poverty, social isolation and domestic abuse.

Phil Bendall, General Manager said, “We were delighted with the money raised for Trinity Winchester from our birthday raffle and know that it will be put to great use. Trinity are an amazing Charity and we look forward to continuing our support with them to help fund the amazing work that they do in the local community.”

Michelle Gardner, Director of Strategy and Fundraising at Trinity said, “As a small local charity we rely heavily on the generosity of local businesses and we are extremely grateful for the support of River Cottage Canteen, especially being chosen as beneficiaries on such a special night.”

The Canteen also worked with Trinity on the “Big sleep out” in May and are holding a gala dinner event with them on 26 November.
