Feel rested, rejuvenated and inspired by a Retreat to River Cottage.
Spend four nights deep in the English countryside and enjoy a programme of energising events on the farm made famous by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall that includes two days in the cookery school with nutritionist Naomi Devlin, daily yoga with Barbara Mella, mindfulness and a renewed sense of what matters to you under the guidance of best-selling author and wellness tutor Beth Kempton.
River Cottage has always been a place to escape to, a sanctuary from daily life and an opportunity to be immersed in the wild world, because it works in rhythm with the seasons, and nurtures health and wellbeing through many of their courses and events, welcoming guests to join them on their sustainable journey. Taking this a step further, they have designed an exceptional new wellness retreat at their stunning 17th century HQ and 100 acre organic smallholding. The inspirational programme includes some of the favourite elements of River Cottage combined with the skills of expert contributors, carefully designed to encourage a more holistic approach to life.
Beth Kempton says “Spending five days in this utterly gorgeous part of the world, you’ll have the opportunity to relax, recharge and explore what you really need in your life right now. I would love to spend this precious time helping you get a fresh perspective and practice self-care. If you are feeling stressed and exhausted, overstretched and overwhelmed, or lacking focus and direction, you will find this retreat to be a healing tonic. You will be pampered with attention, food, friendship and time, and leave rested, centred and inspired, with new wellbeing tools and renewed intention. Every detail of this retreat has been designed to support and nourish you. You will laugh, you will probably cry, you will learn, you will connect, and you will go away feeling like a freshly revealed version of your true self.”
Food is central to the retreat, both in the delicious organic food that will be prepared for you daily by the River Cottage chefs, and in the cookery tutorials with expert nutritionist Naomi Devlin, with an emphasis on gut health. Each day begins with yoga (for all levels) in the skilful hands of teacher Barbara Mella. There will also be plenty of opportunities to spend time in nature through the mindful exploration of the stunning Jurassic coastline near River Cottage HQ, and through foraging and cooking outdoors. Leaving will be hard but you will feel rested, restored and ready to take the skills, techniques and inspiration gained at River Cottage back into your daily life. Choose to stay in one of 3 of the newly refurbished farmhouse bedrooms or snuggle up in a bespoke LoveaBell tent in the wildflower meadow.
