How long have you worked for River Cottage?

I joined River Cottage HQ in June 2015 having relocated to the area from Cambridgeshire. I initially started as a Kitchen Porter with the ambition to progress through the ranks. It was in September 2016 that I decided to take part in the River Cottage apprenticeship scheme.

What do you like about working for here?

I personally love working within the seasons. As a chef at River Cottage you have the opportunity to forage and gather your ingredients from the 95 acre farm that the kitchen is set within. Not only does this mean that we are using fresh and local ingredients, but it also allows you to be far more creative as a cook.

What’s your typical day like?

A typical day working day is very difficult to describe here at River Cottage. Our days are never the same here, which I believe to be a true privilege. From weddings and cookery classes, to photo shoots and festivals. We really do see it all.
