Events Administrator

We’re looking for a friendly and passionate person to join our Events team. The River Cottage organic smallholding is the base for our Cookery School, unique dining experiences, B&B accommodation, weddings and private events. As the Events Administrator, you’ll be the first point of contact for guests contacting River Cottage and will be able to confidently provide excellent customer service and support to guests looking to join us in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You’ll be a key member of the team providing essential administration and co-ordination support for the River Cottage events team.

Job Title Events Administrator

Reporting to Head of Events

Location Remote and River Cottage HQ

Job Type Permanent, 32 hours per week, across 4 or 5 days (one day per week to be a weekend day)

Salary £25,500 pro rata (£20,400 based on 32 hours)

Key responsibilities:

• To fully understand the River Cottage ethos/brand and enthusiastically share this knowledge with guests.

• To have an in-depth knowledge of courses, events and other services offered to enable you to communicate effectively with guests.

• Answer the phone and emails, providing excellent customer service by assisting with queries and bookings.

• To ensure all event paperwork is accurate and delivered to the operational team on time, including but not limited to all sign in sheets and printed packs.

• To collate recipes from each course and format these into the relevant template, proof reading and editing where necessary.

• Effectively receive and welcome guest feedback and communicate this with the management team effectively.

• Complete weekly reports, including but not limited to feedback, accommodation and events reports.

• You’re proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word)

• You’re efficient and organised

• You’re passionate about sustainability and great food

• You’re confident in managing unusual and sometimes difficult enquiries

• You’re eager to get involved with all sorts of tasks in a multi-faceted business

• You’re happy to work individually as well as within a team.

• You have a valid driving licence
