For the very first time our beautiful old farmhouse is offering overnight accommodation. We are welcoming guests to stay at the heart of River Cottage HQ - waking up to far-reaching views across the spectacular Axe valley, the bustle of a new day on the farm and the smell of freshly baked bread wafting up the winding staircase.
Our traditional West Country 17th century long house has been sympathetically refurbished with crafted fixtures and fittings from British manufacturers and restored into a stunning living space. We have retained the original farmhouse features combining them with modern functionality, breathing new life into one of our most beloved buildings here at River Cottage. Positioned across the courtyard from our cookery school and events barn, this relaxing haven is the perfect place to rest and unwind at the end of a busy day. It has also been a comfortable work retreat for Hugh and regularly features in our TV series, books and press.
The sitting room has double aspect views while the interior designed farmhouse kitchen looks out over the mature walled kitchen garden. Upstairs there are three spacious bedrooms a luxurious master room with en-suite and a stylish twin and double bedroom with a shared bathroom. We use white Egyptian linen bedding, organic cotton towels and the bathrooms are stocked with excellent Bramley toiletries. In each room is a pile of specially selected reading material and a jar of handpicked foliage from the farm.
We are offering the rooms separately as bed and breakfast as well as giving the option to rent the entire house for private events and parties. If you are celebrating your wedding at River Cottage you will have exclusive use of the house for the night of your wedding and our chefs will spoil you with a romantic breakfast to wake up to.
