A 30 Plant Feast with Hugh

from £195.00

Join Hugh in our beautiful 18th century threshing barn for a fantastic four-course feast and your own signed copy of his brand new book How To Eat 30 Plants A Week

This is a unique opportunity to spend some time with Hugh, hearing about his new book and sampling recipes from it. Even though it’s a book that celebrates the joys and benefits of eating more plants, it wont be a “plants only” menu, but will also feature some carefully chosen meat and fish - albeit served up with plenty of lovely plants alongside!

The book, and the evening, showcase the increasingly prevalent view that it’s a diversity of plant ingredients in our diets that can really help to keep us well - as explained by Professor Tim Spector who has written the introduction to Hugh’s book. The menu will therefore celebrate not only the seasonal bounty of fresh fruit and veg available in the River Cottage Garden, but also many of the nuts, seeds, pulses and spices that round out the full range of plants that can help to nurture our gut biomes,  as well as helping our brilliant team of chefs create delicious dishes of course.

Hugh will join you for a welcome drink and canapes in the garden, yurt or cookery school (depending on the weather), where he will be happy to sign books, and have pictures taken with you. The price of your ticket to this event includes a copy of How To Eat 30 Plants a Week, which Hugh will sign for you personally. If you come with partner, one of you can even swap your copy for another of Hugh’s books!

You will then take your seats in the barn for a short talk from Hugh about his new book, and how to make the 30 Plants a Week approach achievable in your own kitchen. There will be time for you to ask Hugh questions, before he introduces the menu for the evening, highlighting the provenance of key ingredients. The River Cottage team will then serve your feast.

Hugh will return to the dining room (usually before your main course) to catch up with you before saying a final goodnight.

Tickets for this exclusive evening include a welcome drink with two canapes, a four-course meal, plus home-made petit fours, and a copy of Hugh’s book
