Embrace the seasons with an evening of fantastic food at River Cottage

No matter the season, the farm is the perfect place to celebrate and dine with family and friends.  Our chefs make the most of the season’s produce, harvesting directly from the abundant walled kitchen garden and plundering the spoils of the polytunnels. They create a daily four course menu that incorporates the most delicious dishes from the homegrown and local ingredients available.

This long table feast is an ideal event to share with your family and friends, exploring the farm and enjoying views of the stunning Axe Valley.  Once you are seated in the 18th century threshing barn, dinner is introduced by your chef for the evening before you eat, drink and relax.

We are internationally renowned for creating a constantly changing menu inspired by our SLOW ethos of ingredients that are Seasonal, Local, Organic and Wild: plants, meat and fish that have been foraged, grown, raised and caught either right here on the farm, or by nearby farmers, growers and artisans who share our passion for the finest provenance. Two of these organic growers, Trill Farm and Haye Farm, are our neighbours.

Your event

  • Arrive at River Cottage

    You’ll be met at the top of the hill and begin your River Cottage experience with a 10-15 minute walk through the wonderful pathways down to the farm, enabling you to really soak up the views of the valley.

  • Welcome & canapés

    We’ll greet you with a seasonal drink, canapés and the chance to explore your idyllic surroundings.

  • Chef’s introduction

    As you settle in, your chef will introduce the menu and tell you more about our philosophy, the food’s provenance and how the dishes have been prepared.

  • The main event

    You’ll be treated to four courses of fantastic local and seasonal produce, planned on the day to showcase the freshest and the best.

  • Petit fours

    After dinner you’ll unwind with petits fours (if you still have room), before heading home.

  • Drinks

    We source our drinks as judiciously as our food. So head up to the bar to try our own River Cottage range of organic Ciders, Beers and Kombuchas, and a carefully curated wine list of mostly organic and biodynamic wines.
