River Cottage Chef's Table Experience
Join us for this exciting new event and spend an evening with a River Cottage chef and just 12 fellow diners enjoying a seven course feast.
Taking place in the River Cottage Cookery School, this intimate dining experience will be an evening of inspiration where you'll see our Head Chef and his team working closely to create a seven-course feast of sensational seasonal food created especially for you. Dine at the Chef's Table and you will discover what makes River Cottage menus so special.
The River Cottage commitment to sustainability and our SLOW - Seasonal, Local, Organic and Wild - ethos is at the core of what we do. The Chefs Table experience is a chance to find out why we are utterly dedicated to this ethos. Your chefs will be your host for the evening, they will guide you through the menu and be preparing dishes in front of you so you can see their expertise in action.
Over the course of the evening your chefs will explain the origins of the ingredients, walk you through the River Cottage kitchen garden and show you how the dishes have been devised to allow the quality and provenance to shine through. Many of the ingredients will have been grown on the farm, or sourced from a selection of local fisherman, farmers and growers, all of whom are friends and neighbours of River Cottage. You'll experience first-hand the excitement this connection to the ingredient's provenance brings to our menus and because your chef will be with you throughout the evening there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and benefit from their knowledge and passion.
Your menu will be accompanied by a drinks pairing chosen to complement each dish. Our drinks choices are as considered as our menus. You will be served a selection of organic and biodynamic wines, our own River Cottage beers, ciders and kombuchas as well as our favourite tipples from local distilleries and brewers all paired by our expert chefs.
The Chef's Table is a chance to truly experience the essence of everything River Cottage. So come and join us for this ultimate food-lovers feast.

Arrive at River Cottage
You’ll be met at the top of the hill at 7.15pm and begin your River Cottage experience where you will be driven down the hill by our team. If it’s a lovely evening you can take a 10 minute walk through the wonderful pathways down to the farm, enabling you to really soak up the views of the valley.
Meet the chefs who will be hosting your evening and enjoy a seasonal cocktail whilst you have a chance to explore the kitchen garden and your surroundings
The main event
You’ll be treated to a 7-course menu of fantastic local and seasonal produce, planned on the day to showcase the freshest and the best our garden and local suppliers have to offer. Throughout the evening your chef host will tell you more about our philosophy, the food’s provenance and how the dishes have been prepared.
We happily cater for any dietary requirements, which you’ll be asked to provide when booking.
Your menu will be accompanied by a drinks pairing chosen to complement each dish. We source our drinks as judiciously as our food, with our own River Cottage range of organic ciders, beers and kombuchas, and a carefully curated wine list of 100% organic and biodynamic wines.
To finish the evening, you’ll unwind with coffee or teas before heading home.

We are a licensed venue. We have a wide selection of the finest organic wines available to purchase.

We regularly and happily cater for all allergies and dietary restrictions your party may have so please let us know when you book. With a little notice we can make something equally as delicious for you. Sometimes guests ask us to consider dislikes and preferences too. We understand this may be due to nervousness around our set menu style of dining. On those occasions we would rather not make too many changes as we want our guests to enjoy the experience that has been created specifically for the event they are attending.
