Front of House Manager

We are looking for an engaging and passionate Front of House Manager to join our team at River Cottage HQ to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations for our weddings, dining & bespoke events.

River Cottage is an organic farm renowned for our commitment to seasonal, local, organic food and sustainable, ethical sourcing. We produce as much of the food as we can right here on the farm, catering for a very varied range of events, from tasting menu feasts, to Sunday lunches and cookery courses, as well as weddings and bespoke events.

Salary: £32,000

Purpose of Job:

• To run the front of house operations in relation to weddings, dining, and bespoke events.

• To work closely with the Wedding Co-ordinator to ensure a smooth hand over of wedding parties from the Wedding Co-ordinator to the FOH Manager.

• To ensure first class service at all events held at Park Farm.

• To gain and maintain a detailed knowledge of wine served at Park Farm and to develop a drinks list to reflect and compliment the food served.

• To train and inspire your team to deliver first class food and drink service.

• To recruit like-minded people and to ensure good team morale and motivation.

The role will include: 

• To physically run the front of house delivery at weddings, dining events and bespoke events.

• To plan rotas at least a month in advance to ensure events are delivered well and on budget.

• To maintain agreed stock levels and responsibly order new stock from nominated suppliers.

• To always work within the agreed Front of House budget.

• To attend weekly operations meeting with the Operations Director and other operational heads.

• To attend a weekly meeting with the café and cook school managers.

• To attend monthly meetings with the Chief Executive and all heads of departments within the business.
