Following the success of our Young Chef Apprenticeship Scheme, we're proud to announce the launch of our new Traineeship programme starting in January 2014.
The ten apprentices will not only go on to gain a professional cookery qualification, but will also completely the course while work in some of the South West’s restaurants, pubs and hotels.
Since opening its doors a year ago, Chefs’ School has placed 74 apprentices in 50 local businesses, transforming lives of these young people, many of whom will progress to become great chefs.
The graduation extravaganza, held here at River Cottage HQ, was marked with a banquet cooked by Chef Tutors, speeches given by Steve Lamb followed by a certification ceremony presented by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. The graduates then danced the night away as they celebrated their achievements.

This ‘work-experience’ scheme aims to bridge the gap between education and employment for young people. Trainees will attend Park Farm twice a week for the first eight weeks, then once a week from then on. In addition to practical cookery, they will complete a range of activities aimed to increase employability, including interview techniques, CV writing, confidence boosting activities and career guidance.
