Apple toddy
Warming cinnamon, cloves and ginger with England’s most beloved orchard fruit makes luscious base for a classic hot toddy. This steamy marriage not only teases out the sweet, woody spice aromas, it also enhances their winter bug-battling properties.
Method
Place all the ingredients in a saucepan apart from the vinegar and honey. Simmer for 10 minutes to imbue a depth of flavour from the spices.
Take off the heat. Add the vinegar and honey and pour into glasses.

500ml apple juice
250ml water
1 cinnamon stick, broken into two
6 cloves
6 slices of ginger
3 strips of lemon zest
3 strips of orange zest
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp raw honey
