A Seasonal Feast with Hugh
Join Hugh in our beautiful 17th century threshing barn for a fantastic four-course feast that showcases the finest produce of the season.
Hugh will join you for a welcome drink and canapes in the veg garden or the yurt (depending on the weather), where he will be happy to sign books, and have pictures taken with you. (Hugh’s books are always on sale but you are welcome to bring yours with you as well.)
You will then take your seats in the barn for a short talk from Hugh about the joys of the season and what is happening in the world of River Cottage. There will be time for you to ask Hugh questions, before he hands over to River Cottage Head Chef Steven Kiernan who will tell you about some of the key ingredients and dishes he and Hugh have planned for you. The team will then serve your feast. Hugh will return to the dining room (usually before your main course) to catch up with you.
Tickets for this exclusive evening include a welcome drink with two canapes, a four-course meal, plus coffee and home-made petit fours.
With only 40 tickets available to ensure everyone gets some time with Hugh, this will be a very special event, hosted by Hugh and centered around a fantastic seasonal meal planned by Hugh and the team and served in the beautiful River Cottage barn.

Arrive at River Cottage
You’ll be met at the top of the hill at 6.30pm and begin your River Cottage experience with a 10-15 minute walk through the wonderful pathways down to the farm.
Welcome and canapés
You'll enjoy a welcome drink on arrival and there's time, if you wish, to explore the kitchen garden and your surroundings
The main event
As you settle in the barn for the evening, there will be a short talk from Hugh about the joys of the season and what is happening in the world of River Cottage. . There will be time for you to ask Hugh questions before he hand overs to our Head Chef Steven Kiernan who will talk you through the menu and explain the food’s provenance and how the dishes have been prepared.
You’ll be served a four-course menu of fantastic local, seasonal produce, featuring recipes from Hugh's book.
Petits fours and coffee
After dinner you’ll unwind with coffee and petits fours, before heading back up the hill.
This dining event is run from River Cottage HQ on the Dorset/Devon borders. Full address details of HQ will be provided once you have booked.
We are a licensed venue. We have a wide selection of the finest organic wines available to purchase.
This event is for guests over the age of 13 only. Under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult. We put these guidelines in place for the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all our guests.
Please note we cater for all but the most severe allergies and intolerances, however, as ingredients that include allergens are used in other recipes in our kitchens, we cannot guarantee against contamination.
