Here at River Cottage we believe in supporting food enterprise. This could be start-up companies, social enterprises, charities or organisations.
We want to encourage groups to grow the all-important skills of young people in the world of food sustainability.
That's why we’ve partnered with Crowdfunder to help and support unique projects looking to raise funds for their great foodie-ideas.
Crowdfunder is the UK’s no.1 crowdfunding platform, they’ve raised millions of pounds for thousands of businesses, charities, social enterprises and individuals over the last few years, and we want to help them help you.
If you’ve got a brilliant business idea, a soup kitchen that is serving up a dish of social enterprise or a bunch of kids with a lot of passion and no funds to turn that passion into skills, we want to hear from you.
Crowdfunder have worked closely with their community to create 95 Tips from Crowdfunders For Crowdfunders to support everyone who is thinking about launching a project. Check it out for some top-notch advice.
A project we loved was Joy Rose's Bloombox Salad.
Joy wanted to offer fresh, leafy green, seasonal salads topped with edible flowers and delicious homemade dressings all sourced from local organic farms and delivered by push bike at lunch time. She needed £3,500 fto start up, including money for renting some kitchen space and buying a bike trailer and basket. Joy reached her target in 28 days, from 126 backers all pledging to help her get Blooombox off the ground.
