East Devon’s renowned producers, chefs, restaurants and venues have joined forces to present Taste East Devon Festival. A series of events will be taking place across our beautiful coast and country from the 3rd - 18th September, 2022.

We’re thrilled to be involved in the Taste East Devon Festival again this year and as part of the programme, we are hosting two exclusive River Cottage events. To kick things off, our Head Chef Steven Kiernan will also be speaking and demoing at the first event on the calendar – the Ottery St Mary Food and Families Festival on the 3rd September.

“It is important that we celebrate what we have. We have this landscape - I don’t know the exact term, but I call it Dingly-Dell. Up-hill-and-down-dale... It lends itself to small-scale mixed farming. People doing bits and pieces. And because farms have tended to be small there’s been that entrepreneurial spirit of adding value to products with a bit of artisan craftsmanship thrown in. Little dairies with their own cheeses - small farms making their own cider on the side.” - Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall

River Cottage Garden Tour, 6th September

Join River Cottage gardeners Adam Crofts & Jonny Callis and take inspiration from the produce and gardening methods used by the team here at our smallholding. Enjoy a seasonal cocktail and delicious savoury snack to make your visit extra special, and take a guided tour of both our infamous walled Kitchen Garden, and our productive Market Garden with Adam and Jonny.

Taste East Devon – River Cottage Feast, 16th September

Join us at River Cottage HQ for a six course feast celebrating the fantastic produce and ingredients that East Devon has to offer, cooked by our Head Chef Steven Kiernan and Culinary Director Gelf Alderson. Their inspirational cooking reflects the passion, knowledge and commitment to provenance that fires up the whole River Cottage team.
