On Monday 4 April we held our second annual Garden Open Day at River Cottage HQ.
The brainchild of Head Gardener, Will Livingstone, the Garden Open Day not only showed attendees how we do things at River Cottage, but also covered sustainable, organic and unique horticultural methods and practices on all things edible from industry experts.
We were extremely pleased to partner for a second year with Horatio's Garden a national charity that builds beautiful gardens for patients at NHS spinal treatment centres. We donated £2 of every ticket sold to the charity and they also came along to the event and had a stand with all their wonderful gardening products.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the speakers who contributed to making the day so informative and engaging. Thank you to No Dig expert
Charles Dowding, organic kitchen gardener, chef and writer Stephanie Hafferty, Head Gardener of Riverford Penny Hemming, garden writer Sally Nex, our very own Dan Powell River Cottage Farm Manager, Josiah Meldrum of Hodmedods, Head Grower Ashley Wheeler from Trill Farm and last but not least Head Gardener Will Livingstone and Assistant Gardener Jim Budden from River Cottage HQ.
